About this site

What Seminary Guide is, where the information comes from, and what it won't tell you.

What this is

Seminary Guide lists 38 women's seminaries in Israel in one place, in the same format, so students and parents can compare them without opening thirty websites. It also explains the practical side of the year: applying, costs, grants, visas and college credit.

Where the information comes from

  • Every fact on a seminary's listing was read on that school's own website. The listing links to the exact pages.
  • A few prices come from the school's page on Masa's website. Those are marked as Masa list prices.
  • All listings were last checked on 2 and 3 October 2026.
  • When a school's website doesn't say something, the listing says "not on their website" instead of filling the gap from memory or hearsay.
  • A school's religious outlook is given in the school's own words. If its site doesn't use a label, we don't add one.
  • The guides are written from official sources such as Masa, the Israeli government, Yeshiva University, Touro and the IRS, and each guide lists its sources.

What this site doesn't do

  • It doesn't rank, score or review seminaries.
  • No school pays to be listed, and the order is alphabetical.
  • It isn't connected to any seminary, to the joint application, to Masa or to any college.
  • It can't tell you which school is right for you. A website can say what a school offers. Only students who've been there can tell you what it's like.

What can go wrong

School websites go out of date, and we may have misread something. Staff, dates and prices change every year. Treat a listing as a starting point and confirm anything that matters with the school before you apply or pay.

Not every seminary is here. We only list a school when we can read the facts on its own website, and some well-known seminaries, especially Bais Yaakov seminaries, publish very little online. The seminary list names the ones we know we're missing.

Corrections

If you work at a seminary, studied at one, or just noticed something wrong, please send a correction. Tell us what should change and where we can read it on the school's site.

About the verses

The Hebrew verses on this site are written with vowel points and checked against the Masoretic text. The English beneath each one is our own plain translation. We chose verses that don't contain the Divine Name, so you can print a page without worrying about how to dispose of it.

About the photographs

The photographs on the home page are from Unsplash (opens in a new tab), used under the Unsplash License (opens in a new tab): spring blossom by Pedro Sanz and Jelleke Vanooteghem, a stone cloister walk by Lisa Forkner, and a skyline at dusk by Lior. They show the Land, not any particular seminary. The neighborhood pictures on each seminary's page are from Wikimedia Commons (opens in a new tab), and each one is credited beside the picture with its photographer, its licence and a link to its source page. Maps and coordinates use OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors (opens in a new tab).

Who runs it

I publish Seminary Guide through Consult With Ari (opens in a new tab), my web design and marketing consultancy in Jerusalem. I'm not an educator or a seminary advisor. I built this as a free community resource, and it's one of several community sites I run.
