We only call a school Bais Yaakov when its own website does. These are the seminaries on our list whose sites use the words, in their own phrasing. Many Bais Yaakov seminaries publish very little online, so most of these listings are short, and the office is the place to ask.
Seminaries that call themselves Bais Yaakov
- Havineini Bais Yaakov, Kiryat Mattersdorf, Jerusalem: "Bais Yaakov". A paper application mailed to its office in Jackson, NJ, with transcripts and a principal's report sent by the high school, then an interview.
- Me'ohr Bais Yaakov, Beit Hakerem, Jerusalem: "Bais Yaakov". Applications go through an online applicant portal on its site.
- Machon Sara Yerushalayim, Jerusalem: "Bais Yaakov Seminary". Its site has no form or dates, so contact its New York office to apply.
- Nachlas Bais Yaakov, Jerusalem: "Bais Yaakov". Its site is only for accepted students, so contact the office to apply.
- Rinas Bais Yaakov, Jerusalem: "Bais Yaakov". No form online; it runs information sessions in Brooklyn, and you contact the office to apply.
- Pninim, Har Nof, Jerusalem: "Bais Yaakov styled". The Apply button leads to a contact form.
- Maalot Yerushalayim, Har Nof, Jerusalem: "Fully Bais Yaakov–aligned in values and standards". A second-year program for women 19 and over, with college-level courses.
Other seminaries may be described as Bais Yaakov by families or schools, but if a school's own site doesn't use the words, we don't add them. You'll find every school, with its own description, on the full seminary list.
How applying differs
- None of these schools is on the Joint Sem Application. Each uses its own form and its own dates. See applying to seminary.
- Several of them post little online, and some forms on their sites are from an earlier year. Ask your high school's seminary guidance office which form and deadline are current.
- Touro's Israel Option, which can turn the year into college credit, lists many Bais Yaakov seminaries. See college credit for your seminary year.
