The year in detail
As described on the school's own website. A missing heading means their site didn't say.
- A typical day
- Sunday to Thursday: Shacharit in the beit midrash, hour-long class slots through the morning, a lunch break, afternoon slots and evening slots. Students build their own schedule; the only required course is Hilchot Shabbat. One night a week is off.
- Shabbat
- About once a month there is a mandatory school Shabbaton, on campus or in a community elsewhere in Israel. On other Shabbatot students may go to family or friends or stay in the residence, where a madrichah stays with them; teachers also host. The residence is open on Chol HaMoed Sukkot and Pesach; Shavuot is spent together at the school.
- Trips
- A trip or special event about every other week, with half-day and full-day tiyulim and two extended trips of two to five days in the north and the south. The site also refers to a Poland tour.
- Chesed and volunteering
- Volunteer program with placements at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center and Hadassah Hospital, One Family Fund, WIZO, Darkaynu, ALEH, Shalva and the Ethiopian National Project, arranged by a volunteer coordinator, plus group chesed events during the year.
- Campus and housing
- Beit midrash, classrooms, offices and dining room in one building. Students live in apartments with 3 bedrooms (usually two students per room), two bathrooms, kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, heating and air conditioning. Washers and dryers in the building; two student computers with internet.
- Rules they publish
- Curfew: back in the dorm by 12:00 AM on weekdays and 12:30 AM on Thursday and Saturday nights. Dress code: necklines close to the collarbone, sleeves covering elbows and at least 3/4 length, skirts well below the knee with no slits above the knee.
- After the year
